Hurricane Hill via Hurricane Ridge

Spectacular mountain views on a clear day. This one is about 1.7 miles out and back for 3.4 mile total. The elevation gain is 826 feet. It can be windy and we will be on a ridge. Wear good footing and have plenty of food and water. We’re going to eat lunch on the hike at a view point. We will meet at the burned up building at the top of Hurricane Ridge road. I think they are rebuilding the lodge, but find parking close to the old burnt building and walk up there before our 10am first steps on the trail. Take hwy 3 across the hood canal bridge to port Angeles turn on Race Road and follow signs to mt angeles road and then Hurricane ridge road which turns into heart of the hills road. the drive is worth the views. it’s beautiful. this will be another long day since it’s a two hour drive to get to the starting point. We start promptly at 10 am and it will take about 2 hours to complete our hike.
