Ozette Coastal Triangle Hike

Details
This is a spectacular view of the Salish Sea and forrested area. The hike is 9 miles with only 557 feet elevation gain. We will need our own water source and food. Typically we’ve been hiking about 3 miles and this hike is 3 times that long so plan for 4.5 hours or hike the first 3 miles and turn back to the car. We will hike the whole loop which is 3 miles to the beach, 3 miles along the beach, and 3 miles back to the car. The drive to the trailhead is beautiful but a long 3 hour drive. Hoping to car pool to minimize the number of cars in the parking area. We’ll find a good place to eat our lunch on the beach and stop to enjoy the sounds and view along the way. No bathrooms once we’re on the trail. Be prepared to go in the woods and bury it. Bring diaper wipes, good shoes for rocky/sandy beach areas, plenty of water, sandwiches, fruit, trailmix, and a really good camera. I’m really looking forward to this one. Drive across the Hood Canal bridge, head past Port Angeles to Joyce, stay on hwy 112 past clallum bay, 112 might also be called- strait of juan fuca hwy, go left on hoko ozette road, follow until it’s taking a ninety degree right turn and the ozette coastal trailhead signage for parking. park. You will have just passed the ozette campground area. We’ll start at 10 am as usual so you’ll need to leave Bremerton by 630am! Hope to see you there! Let me know if you want to car pool together.
